Timmons Fish Camp was converted to a fresh fish market and a small grocery store serving the locals and restaurants with fresh fish. This was the original Down The Hatch pub located next to the fish market, currently our inside bar area. In 1977 the over the water dining room was constructed and the pub became Down the Hatch Seafood Restaurant. Captain Frank Timmons and his family developed his parents original "Timmons Landing of the 40's into the present day Down the Hatch Restaurant and Sea Love Marina and Boat Works.

Daytona 500 Experience

The Daytona International Speedway is a versatile 480-acre motorsports facility that is home to the biggest, richest and most prestigious stock car race in the NASCAR Sprint Cup Series- the DAYTONA 500. The track offers three separate tours that take race fans inside the hallowed grounds of NASCAR's marquee race track. Daytona USA celebrated its tenth anniversary in 2006 by adding the Daytona 500 Champion's Walk of Fame to the walkway in front of the building.

Angell & Phelps Chocolate Factory

In 1995, the owners decided to buy the old Dunn Brothers Hardware/Toy store building on Beach Street and move the factory back downtown. The city was getting ready to put in a multimillion-dollar streetscape to help revitalize the downtown and the timing seemed right to make a change. They configured the factory with a viewing hallway so we could market the chocolate factory as a tourist attraction for the millions of visitors that come to the area ever year. It has been very popular with tourists and locals alike. Many travel writers throughout the world have written about them. In 2004, Southern Living Magazine named Angell & Phelps Chocolate Factory one of the "Best Food Finds!"

Dummett Sugar Mill Ruins

Once a flourishing industry, Florida's sugar plantations greatly suffered during the territory's 1783 re-acquisition by Spain, the subsequent 1821 ceding to the U.S., and the onset of the Industrial Revolution. The seven-year Seminole Indian War, beginning in 1835, was the final blow to the industry when most of the area's mills were destroyed. Visitors can now find remnants of the industry throughout the area at various ruins sites. Located on the former Dummett Plantation, the Dummett Sugar Mill Ruins offer visitors a fascinating glimpse of history and insight into what is believed to be the first steam-powered sugar mill in Florida.
